POSITION: Vice President of Finance and Administration
The Vice President of Finance and Administration is a full-time position (40 hours), responsible for directing and coordinating the Finance, Investment, Facilities, Administration, and Information Technology functions and is responsible for providing leadership, management and development of these areas and to the following direct reports: Controller, Director of Facilities and Director of Information Technology. The President may also assign other duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Functions as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, developing plans, policies, best practices and procedures in specific areas of responsibility. Help to lead the organization by suggesting and implementing ideas regarding strategies and tactical management issues. Bring financial and general management expertise to the senior management team.
- Finance- Oversee the annual budget process. Provide oversight in the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. Oversee the coordination of annual audits and proper filings of tax returns and ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place. Utilize financial information to help ARL managers in managing their departments and in developing departmental short-term and long-term goals. Direct the treasury function. Responsible for financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting including maintaining the long-range financial plan. Serve as staff liaison to Finance and Audit, Investment, and Retirement Committees of the Board of Directors.
- Facilities- Oversee all ARL building maintenance, building renovation and new building projects.
- Information Technology-Oversee the information technology function, providing network and system-wide automation services to the ARL. Ensure that the IT function effectively serves operational needs and aligns with the ARL’s strategic direction.
- Risk Management- Review and provide input on all contracts, business insurance and legal issues with the exception of employment matters.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and fifteen or more years of related experience with a demonstrated achievement in implementing change in a collaborative manner are required. MBA and/or CPA preferred. Effective analytical and planning skills are necessary as well as articulate and persuasive interpersonal relations.
