The Pine Ridge Cemetery in DedhamPine Ridge 1

Pine Ridge Cemetery is the oldest pet cemetery in the country that is owned and operated by an animal welfare agency. Pine Ridge, located at 238 Pine Street, is adjacent to the Animal Rescue League’s (ARL) of Boston’s Dedham Animal Care and Adoption facility at 55 Anna’s Place. In addition to the present-day cemetery, Pine Ridge also includes an historical section with burials dating back to the early 1900’s that is open to the public from dawn to dusk.

Pine Ridge Pet Cemetery is now pleased to offer hand-crafted caskets and cremation boxes. Please click here for more information.

Cremations

Cremations are performed on site. We process requests for cremations on a first come, first served basis with you receiving your pet’s ashes in 7 to 10 business days. Fees range from $140 to $200. In order to serve you better, we ask that you call ahead to make arrangements for your pet’s cremation prior to your arrival. The cemetery office is open Monday by appointment only, on Tuesday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and on Saturday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

All ashes are returned in pine boxes. In addition, engraved plaques are also available for purchase.

Ashes can be picked up on site or, for an additional fee, can be shipped to your home.

BurialsPine Ridge Pet Cemetery and Burial

There are two different types of burial lots available in our cemetery. The first type is in our flat headstone section and sized at 36 by 18 inches. This section is available for burial markers which are flush to the ground. Lots in the flat headstone section are priced at $650.

The second lot that we have available is sized at 40 by 24 inches and is located in our upright section. Lots suitable for upright burial markers are priced at $1000.

Burial markers are not included with the price of the lot; however, we would be happy to provide you with a list of monument companies familiar with our required dimensions.  There will be a one-time $250 perpetual care fee applied to all new lots purchased.

All burials must be scheduled in advance by calling the cemetery office. We can also pick up your pet from your home or veterinarian for a $75 fee.
