Do I Qualify?
The Spay Waggin’ as a subsidized service for clients in financial need who might otherwise be unable to afford this important service. Comparable fees charged by independent veterinarians range between $200 and $350 for cats; and between $325 and $450 for dogs. The Spay Waggin’s average cost to you is less than half of that. The remainder of the surgery’s costs is subsidized by the donors of the Animal Rescue League of Boston.
All pets should be between the ages of two months and five years.
How do I schedule an appointment?
The Spay Waggin phone line is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am-4pm. It is closed all major holidays. Please call 1-877-590-SPAY (7729).
The Spay Waggin' appointments are pre-paid only. We accept Mastercard or Visa credit and debit cards or you may chose to purchase a pre-paid Mastercard or Visa. This fee is non-refundable unless the appointment is cancelled 48 hours before the scheduled date.
How do I drop off and pick up my pet?
The Spay Waggin’ does not have a lobby or waiting area, so please dress accordingly.
You will need to meet the Spay Waggin’ at 8:00 am if your pet is female and 8:30am if your pet is male (arrive at 8:00 am if you have both sexes). Late drop offs will not be accepted. You will be expected to wait approximately 45 minutes from your meeting time. Please refer to the Pre-surgical Instructions prior to meeting the Spay Waggin’.
Your pet will need to be picked up the afternoon of surgery. A staff member will give you the designated pick-up time in the morning at drop off. If you do not arrive at the pick up time, you will be charged a late fee and/or your pet will be brought to one of our animal care facilities. Please refer to the Post-surgical Instructions prior to pick up.
What is the Fee?
- Cats: $100.00
- Dogs: $200.00
- Test for canine Heartworm disease (dogs): $20.00
The price includes: physical exam, spay (females) or neuter (males), rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, nail trim and flea/ear mite treatment if necessary.
Please be sure to bring additional money in the afternoon when you come to pick your pet up in case your pet needs to be sent home with any medication. Personal checks not accepted.
