The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) protects the privacy and integrity of the information provided to us to the maximum extent possible. ARL does not share or sell information. This Website Privacy Policy explains how we collect, protect, and use website visitor information.

Information you submit on these pages is general contact information that may include name, email address, mailing address, phone number, format preference, interests, and/or similar information.

ii. Donation pages
Information you submit on these pages is not processed nor stored on this website. This data is transmitted to a SOC 2 compliant, VeriSign Secured, third-party service provider using SSL encryption to ensure the security and privacy of all transactions.

iii. Appointment scheduling pages
Information you submit for appointment scheduling, including applicable fees, is not processed nor stored on this website. This data is transmitted to a SOC 2 compliant, VeriSign Secured, third-party service provider using SSL encryption to ensure the security and privacy of all transactions.

2. Use of Cookies

4. How We Protect Information
ARL protects information you provide using Secured Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. SSL is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a site and a visitor’s browser, ensuring data passed between the two remain private and encrypted. This information will be used only by ARL employees with “need to know” purpose to fulfilling job responsibilities or by authorized agents working on behalf of ARL (e.g., website development and support, fulfillment services, etc.).

5. How We Retain Information
ARL retains the information you provide for the period allowable by law where there is a justifiable business need to do so. You can request the deletion of your information at any time and all requests will be honored in accordance with applicable laws.

ARL may use information obtained from third-party websites to provide a requested service, accept a donation, post to or display social media channels, or improve our website. ARL does not control, nor is liable for third-party websites, and encourages you to read individual website privacy policies as they may differ from this one.

7. California Consumer Information
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) affords California consumers additional privacy protections. To make a consumer access request or to request that your data be deleted, please contact webmaster@arlboston.org. ARL will verify your identity prior to fulfilling your request in accordance with CCPA. In the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Disclosure, ARL has not sold any personal information of consumers, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

8. European Consumer Information

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for data protection and privacy in the European Union and the European Economic Area, you have the right to access your personal data, the right to correct it, the right to request that we stop processing your data, and the right to request we erase your personal data. 9. Safety of Children Under Age 13
ARL complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) as we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from those under age 13. ARL does not specifically market to, nor intentionally collect, personal information from website visitors under the age of 13. Should ARL learn about the submittal of information via this site from a child under the age of 13, ARL will delete the information as soon as possible.

ARL may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in technology, law, our business operations or any other reason we determine is necessary or appropriate.
