Community Veterinary Services
The Animal Rescue League of Boston’s (ARL) Community Veterinary Services Team provides comprehensive veterinary services for the ARL’s Spay Waggin’ as well as ARL’s community cat efforts and community vaccine clinics, as needed.
In 2015, our team:
- Provided over 4,000 low-cost spays/neuters on the ARL’s mobile Spay Waggin’
- Over 200 community cat spays/neuters and vaccines.
- Provided over 120 vaccines for at-risk, owned cats in the community.

Community Surgical Clinic
The Community Surgical Clinic is a new program of the Animal Rescue League of Boston, which provides low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for cats and dogs by using a voucher provided by the Massachusetts Animal Fund. Vouchers are available based on need through your local animal control officer. This new clinic is located at our Safford Memorial Shelter Campus in Dedham, MA and will open in January 2017.
This low-cost clinic is for pet owners who have received a Massachusettes Animal Fund Voucher from their local animal control officer and for local animal shelters that need assistance with spay and neuter surgeries for the animals in their care. Surgeries are by appointment only and booking for January appointments will begin on December 23, 2016.
ARL’s Community Surgical Clinic Accepts:
- Dogs between the ages of 2 months and 7 years of age and up to 100 lbs.
- Cats between the ages of 2 months and 10 years of age.
