2020 Boston Marathon®
The 124th Boston Marathon® has been cancelled and will be held as a virtual event. Though we are disappointed, we know this is in the best interest of all the runners and the City of Boston.
Our wonderful runners Molly and Corey, will taking on 26.2 miles for animals in need
on Monday, September 7.
Three ways you can support our runners:
1. Make a donation
Donate $25 or more and get an ARL performance bandana– great for covering your face while running, exercising, or for everyday use! While supplies last.
2. Submit your words of encouragement for Molly and Corey. We will use your suggestions to make signs.
3. Volunteer to help out on race day.
- Water station outside of our Boston location (10 Chandler Street, Boston, MA)
- Socially distancing cheering
For more information, please email Derek. Due to COVID 19 safety concerns, we will be assigning timed shifts and will require written confirmation from an ARL staff member. All volunteers must wear a mask or face covering. Thank you for your understanding
Meet our Team!
Corey and Molly have made the ultimate New Year’s resolution—to run the Boston Marathon and raise $26,200 for animals in need!
These two extraordinary individuals have been an advocate for animals throughout their lives — even adopting their furry-friends from the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), and have chosen to run for the ARL this year.
We can’t thank them enough for supporting our efforts at ARL and wish them the best of luck!
“I am running my first marathon for a cause I care very deeply about.
I know this will be an amazingly rewarding experience and a tough one. I will need the help of all of you to keep me going but also to help raise the funds! This organization truly has a special place in my heart. Not only do I work for it, but also it has given me one of the greatest joys in my life, my rabbit Chestnut!”
“This time I will be running 26.2 (well, really a lot more than that if we are counting training miles) for the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL). If you have met me, one of the first things you likely have learned about me is my love of animals and my commitment to advocating for them.
This love started at a very young age. I have since adopted two of my own rescue cats – Manny and Cleo. They are fortunate enough to have found their FURever home, where they are loved, cared for, and receive the medical attention they need. Isn’t this the life every animal deserves?”
