Did you know… Cell phones contain coltan, a material mined from the western lowland gorilla's natural habitat. Because of the major cell phone demand, the Congo’s coltan mining business has increased rapidly in recent years. This has led to dramatic destruction of the natural habitat of great apes, bringing this species closer to extinction. When recycled, old electronics can have a major impact on the lives of gorillas. The Keep Pets S.A.F.E. (Supporting Animals and Families Everyday), program was launched three years ago to help keep pets with their families during emergencies, with services that include a pet food pantry. The need is greater than ever. The number of pet meals we provided to the community last year increased by more than 20% and we have already received more than 100 calls to our hotline this year. Our resources have been pushed to the limit and we urgently need your help to Keep Pets F.E.D. (Full Every Day). We are in need of: Dry cat food (13+ lb bags)

Join Us for the South End Spring Stroll! The South End Business Alliance is excited to host its annual South End Spring Stroll on Wednesday, May 7, from 4–8 PM (rain date: Thursday, May 8). This beloved event celebrates the vibrant retail and restaurant scene of Boston’s South End — and marks the start of warmer weather, longer days, and patio season! The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) will be set up outside our friends at SAULT New England, located at 577 Tremont Street. Be sure to stop by our table to learn more about ARL’s work and pick
