ARL is happy to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of the Buffalo Exchange Tokens for Bags® program from July through December 2025. You can now support ARL just by shopping at Buffalo Exchange in Somerville and in Brookline. Instead of a plastic bag, the Tokens for Bags® program offers every customer who makes a purchase one “token” valued at five cents (the cost to produce a bag) to donate to one of several local charities selected by the store. Hosted by the Downtown Boston Alliance, this free event on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 12-3 pm helps put our neighborhood in the Halloween spirit, as the public showcases their beloved–and costumed–canines. The event’s eleventh anniversary promises to bring cuteness and joy for all as we welcome Halloween with an overload of dressed-up pups. There will be free treats and giveaways for both dogs and humans.
